Total Baker

Total Baker is a Texture Baking tool for Unity that allows you to transfer surface details from a highpoly model to a lowpoly model by creating texture maps which can be applied on the lowpoly model to make it appear more detailed. Total Baker can bake Diffuse, Normal, Height, Specular, Metallic, AO, Emissive, Curvature and Mask maps.

Spin Wheel Effect

Spin Wheel Effect is a C# plugin for Unity3D thought to help developers to avoid the ugly Stroboscopic Effect (a.k.a. Wagon Wheel Effect), which occurs when a wheel rotates faster than the frame rate of the game. It works by pre-computing radially blurred textures of the whells and then swap them accordingly to the wheel's speed.

I retired this system from the Asset Store in 2018. If you wonder how to implement such system, feel free to contact me so that I can point you to the right direction. Meanwhile, you can visit this thread in which there are some radial blur solutions and also a ShaderGraph implementation.

Spectrum Analyzer (VFX Graph)

This is an example of Audio React (spectrum analyzer) using the new VFX Graph in Unity 2019.3.

Everything is made of particles: the outer circle is made of 64 growing bars, each representing a small frequency range. The inner circle only reacts to one bass frequency range. To retrieve the amplitude for each frequency I call the AudioSource.GetSpectrumData function in a C# script every frame. Then, I encode spectrum data into a special 64x1 texture which is passed to the VFX Graph to control particles.

Tuning Paradise

Tuning Paradise was a car tuning game in development until 2015. It has been sadly suspended for leak of time, money and collaborators. Tuning Paradise was my first attempt to create a serious game. I suspended this project in the end of 2015 but thanks to its development I learnt a lot of things.

Swish Challenge

A funny and simple 1-tap basketball game made in one week!

Inspired by the famous game "Circle", Swish Challenge is a demo mobile game I made in a one week challenge.

It uses an object pooling system to randomly spawn the balls and the line segments.
The game has 2D graphics but the collisions and the net physics are computed in 3D.
Some balls are temporary bonuses (double score, small balls, flat line).
Most of the animations are implemented with coroutines.

Granular Synthesis for vehicle engines

This is a test I made trying to reproduce vehicle sounds without using clip loops, since they are very ugly in the most cases. This system takes a full engine ramp sound (i.e. 0 to 8000 rpm) and splits it into grains. Each grain has a global preferred size, but adapts itself to minimize clicks (which occur when 2 adjacent sound samples have a huge difference of amplitude). A further step would be to use harmonics analysis to somehow identify and isolate piston cycles, precomputing grains sizes in a lookup table.
